Department of Public Works and Public Utilities
The Department of Public Works and Public Utilities is responsible for municipal buildings and land, road repairs, snow removal, and equipment and vehicle maintenance.
The City of Whittier also provides water and wastewater services for our residents. We do not provide electricity (Chugach Electric Assoc. Inc.), natural gas (Enstar Natural Gas Co.), or solid waste disposal (Alaska Waste). Please contact those providers if you have questions or needs.
