Department of Public Safety
This department is responsible for providing Police, Fire and EMS services in Whittier. Fire and EMS services are provided by trained volunteers.
Whittier Police Department The Whittier Police Department is a municipal law enforcement agency staffed by a Chief and two full time police officers. Seasonal officers are added to handle the increased traffic during the summer months due to the increase of vehicle and foot traffic.
Fire/EMS Whittier Fire and EMS services are provided by a staff of trained volunteer firefighters, EMTs and other medical responders. Utilizing our modern ambulances and medical equipment, Whittier EMS services can provide year-round basic life support services and advanced life support services seasonally. Mutual aid is provided by the City of Girdwood Fire/EMS Department and Lifeguard air ambulance service.
Whittier Clinic The clinic, located in Begich Towers #301 , is administered by the Eastern Aleutian Tribes, Inc.
Hours of Operation:
8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday and Tuesday for Primary Care Services.
8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday telephonically for appointment scheduling.
