The city’s Public Works Department is responsible for daily proactive and reactive maintenance functions for City facilities, public roads, water quality and distribution, and storm water and snow controls. Some tasks carried out by the department are road grading, snow removal, sampling water for cleanliness, repairing water lines, cleaning storm drains, ensuring the city’s sewer lines and catchments are clear and operational. In addition, the Public Works Department also works closely with the City Manager, engineers, and grantors to further projects such as Shotgun Cove Road.
